Justin Faulkner

Physiotherapist / Owner

Justin is an Australian physiotherapist trained in London who grew up in Hong Kong. He qualified in 1995 from University College London and has worked in outpatient settings and private practice ever since. Justin has a keen interest in sports injuries and rehabilitation for people ranging from desk workers to weekend warriors and beyond to the elite athlete.

Whilst in London Justin worked with West Ham United Premier League Football team. On returning to Hong Kong in 1998 he became a partner at a local physiotherapy firm before opening PhysioCentral in 2003. Since 2006 Justin has been working with the HKRFU and their elite rugby players as their head physiotherapist.

He has previously been the physiotherapist for the Hong Kong Dragons AFL team, the Watsons Water Womens tennis tournament and has worked at several Hong Kong 7's, two Rugby 7's World Cups (Dubai and Moscow), two Asian Games (Doha and Guangzhou), The World Games (Taipei) and the East Asian Games (Hong Kong) with the HK team.

Daniel Vart

BSc (Hons) Physio (H.K.), M.H.K.P.A. BSc Sports Science (AUS)

Daniel recently graduated from Hong Kong POLYU in 2012 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. He adds this to his BSc in sports science from Australia in 1999 and has worked in the health and fitness industry both in the U.K and Hong Kong since. Daniel specialises in out-patient physiotherapy with an emphasis in sports physiotherapy, stretch therapy (A.I.S), postural conditioning, personal training, muscle balancing and sports massage.

Daniel is currently the physiotherapist for the HKRFU Development Team, the U16s national rugby team, has recently finished working for Saltimbanco performance group and is also the physiotherapist for the Hong Kong Dragons AFL team and the Hong Kong Scottish Rugby Union team.

Daniel is also trained in clinical pilates.

Mandy Tik

Mandy is a Pilates instructor who trained as a physiotherapist in Hong Kong graduating in 2001.

For over ten years, she has been advancing her skills and experience in movement therapy and posture training. This has helped Mandy to become one of the leaders in her field for Gyrotonic and Pilates in Hong Kong. Mandy can work with both adults and children. In 2009 Mandy was recruited by Amanpuri Resort in Phuket, coaching exclusive clients with Gyrotonic , Elite Cobra and traditional Pilates apparatus. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin and is a keen triathlete, competing regularly both in Hong Kong and overseas.

Mandy joined PhysioCentral in November 2011 adding a much stronger Pilates base to their multidiscipline team.

Rowena Myrans

Rowena graduated from King's College London in 2011 and has been working in private practice in Hong Kong ever since. She is the latest addition to the PhysioCentral team.

Rowena has an interest in treating sports injuries which led her to complete an MSc in Sports Medicine and Health Science in Hong Kong, combining this with experience in orthopaedic and work related injuries and training in clinical Pilates.

Rowena is currently a physiotherapist for the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union, regularly volunteers to be Pitchside in the Emergency Care team for the local rugby matches and was the Physiotherapist for the HK Dragons AFL team during their latest victory in the Asian Championships.

Liesbeth Krebbers

Paediatric Physiotherapist

Liesbeth completed a Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy in 1980 in The Netherlands. In 1987 she completed her post-graduate degree in Paediatric Physiotherapy from the University of Utrecht (The Netherlands).

Liesbeth has extensive experience with diverse populations including children with complex physical disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, various syndromes and other genetic conditions, developmental delay, postural problems, autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing difficulties and developmental coordination disorder.

Liesbeth is originally from The Netherlands and has been practicing physiotherapy in a variety of settings including mainstream schools, schools for special needs children, rehabilitation centers, early intervention as well as private practices in The Netherlands and Singapore. Since 2003, Liesbeth has been a part of the PhysioCentral team.

Liesbeth is NDT (Neuro Development Treatment) certified as well as certified in Sensory Integration and other Sensory Motor Therapies. She is also certified in the auditory intervention programs (Therapeutic Listening and SAMONAS) and received a certification in ASD intervention, fine motor/hands development, oral motor therapy, GMFM 66 and 88 and Neurosuit™. Katie Palmer

Katie Palmer is a University trained Musculo-skeletal Myotherapist who completed her qualifications at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Melbourne Australia. Katie has also completed her Master of Applied Science (Musculoskeletal Management) at RMIT and is registered with the Institute of Registered Myotherapists Association (IRMA).

Katie’s main professional interests are the varied methods of diagnosing and treating sports injuries in particular shoulder, elbow, TMD (Temperomandibular Joint Dysfunctions- dysfunction involving the jaw joints and the head and neck region) and back pain.

Clinical Myotherapy is a branch of manual medicine which focuses on the treatment and management of musculoskeletal pain. This involves an extensive physical evaluation and an integrated therapeutic approach to affected muscles, joints and nerves and is used in the treatment of acute or chronic conditions and in the area of preventive management. A key factor in the application of Clinical Myotherapy is the use of soft tissue and joint mobilisation in which manual techniques are used both diagnostically and therapeutically. These procedures are augmented by the use of modalities such as: dry-needling, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, pain management techniques and prescriptive exercises.

Katie has worked for the past 11 years within various highly respected leading Sports Medicine Practices in Melbourne Australia and Hong Kong.

Katie has worked extensively with PGA golf professionals on the Australasian and European Tours, club golfers, and elite amateur athletes. Katie has previously worked as a co-therapist for the Hong Kong Rugby Union 7’s and 15’s National teams. Katie is also a regular guest speaker for various associations and clubs speaking on topics ranging from Posture Performance to Specific Injury Rehabilitation.

Brock Healy

Podiatrist

Brock is an Australian trained and registered Podiatrist who grew up in Hong Kong. Recently Brock has moved back to Hong Kong and established the Hong Kong Foot Clinic while still owning one of Australia's largest podiatry clinics.

Brock has a keen interest in Sports Injury Management, Running Biomechanics, Orthotic Prescription, Diabetes Management and Plantar Wart Treatment.

Brock performs gait analysis and running technique training which will help you prevent injury, recover from existing injuries and increase your performance and enjoyment of running.

Alexander Chan

Physiotherapist

Alexander is an Australian trained physiotherapist who graduated from University of Melbourne in 2002. Since graduating, he has worked in several large private practices in Melbourne, with his practice primarily focused on rehabilitating people with shoulder, back, and neck disorders. He has also managed multi-disciplinary pain management programs. In 2012, he moved to Hong Kong and has continued working clinically at PhysioCentral.

Alexander has also been involved in various elite sports teams in Australia and Hong Kong (VFL Northern Bullants; Hong Kong Rugby 7s; Hong Kong National Cricket teams; Hong Kong Davis Cup). He has also worked with individual elite athletes at the Hong Kong Sports Institute and at international sporting events (Tennis - ATP Challengers/Futures, ITF tournaments; Badminton - Hong Kong Super Series).

Driven by evidence-based practice, Alexander is the only private practice physiotherapist in Hong Kong where his clinical skills in back pain are underpinned by his current research activities. He is due to complete his PhD from La Trobe University (Australia), with the thesis investigating the conservative management of non-reducible discogenic low back pain. His research was part of the successful Specific Treatment of Problems of the Spine (STOPS) trials and has subsequently presented his research in international journals as well as at speaking engagements including the World Congress in Low Back and Pelvic Pain, ACSMS, IFOMPT, LifeCare Health, and Pinnacle Performance Hong Kong.
